Friday Musings: October 4, 2019

There were many highlights this week including the following:
  • Awesome work with the Four 4's Math Investigation
  • Wonderful use of math tech
  • High interest while watching the film that depicts our recent read aloud, Hatchet
  • Good student service meeting and some good result from collegial collaboration related to student needs and interests
  • Good start on our first math performance task--great collegial collaboration to support that effort
  • Lots of positive curriculum prep work with colleagues
All in all it was a good teaching/learning week. Next week marks the first week this year where there aren't a lot of extras. I'm looking forward to digging into the teaching with the students and continuing to solidify positive routines and make some revision to routines that still can be better.

There's a lot of papers to look over. I really want to do that as I know that when I show interest in the student work, they show greater interest too. Also by taking a close look at what they do, I can better personalize and fine tune the learning program.

Now for some weekend time to reboot. Onward.
