The big think is in place, and now it's time to focus on the day. It's always good to have a plan ready for that day, and it's just as important to be flexible with the plan because sometimes students' needs and interests take you down a different path.
What does today hold?
Student-Led Family/Teacher Conferences
The conferences continue. It has been awesome to hear each child present their learning strengths, interests, accomplishments, needs, and challenges.
PLC: Math MCAS
During our PLC we'll focus on math MCAS prep. Students will work at math tech during that time.
Math RTI
Students will focus on computation today.
Reading Workshop
Students will engage in about 45 minutes of dedicated reading.
Science or Math
Dependent on the team decision, we'll spend an hour on our climate change projects or an hour on math since we traded a math for science last week.
Library
Students will continue their passion project research during library.
Instrumental Lessons
Students will spend a half hour practicing their musical instruments.
Buddy Time Prep and Clean Up
Students will focus on nonfiction prep for their buddy reading then clean up the classroom.
Kindergarten Buddies
Students will teach their students about the nonfiction genre by reading nonfiction books about animals with their buddies.
Recess
The final minutes of the day will be spent playing.
