We're currently in the midst of math, reading, and interdisciplinary endangered species study. The lessons, learning experiences, and schedules are mostly set for that learning.
Now, I'm planning the last six weeks of school which will center on STEAM. I'll prepare by looking at the standards left, the science standards remaining, and the many STEAM articles that are everywhere on the web. I'll also attend Poughkeepsie Day with a colleague to jump start the endeavor.
I've tried a lot of avenues to date to incorporate STEAM, and have done it with some success here and there, but with a six week end-of-the-year emphasis after the conclusion of our endangered species work, we should have a great chance to invest in this worthy learning.
