Climate Change Projects: Next Steps

So far with regard to the grant we're apart of of, a grant to support students' local environmental education as well as climate change action, we've done the following:

  • teacher education and planning
  • student hands-on education
  • student teamwork focus, learning
  • project identification and first steps in planning
The next part of the project demands that students understand what it means to work as a team well to bring their project from start to finish.

I'll show IDEO's wonderful shopping cart video. We'll talk a bit about it means to work as a team. Then we'll review the project steps including the following:
  • start to finish plan
  • identification of the success criteria - what will it look like, what will happen, and how will people feel when it's completed.
  • creation of drafts, prototypes
  • identification of needed materials
  • creation of time lines and to-do lists
  • project work
  • project implementation
  • analysis and assessment
