There can be a tendency to think that some matter and others don't, but in truth, we all matter, and the more we can acknowledge and accept that, the better we'll be.
I don't know if it's our primitive instincts or cultural traditions that promote thinking that puts some ahead of others, but the reality is we all have significance and play important roles in this world of ours. True we choose to elevate some amongst us to lead. Also true that some are elevated due to issues or events of history or perhaps, even natural selection, and when this elevation works against humanity, we have to work against that--we can't elevate those who don't have the common good in mind, and who don't believe we all matter.
