The end of the school year is filled with many amazing events, and as I've stated numerous times, the key is to balance those events with quiet "summer like" study so that students and families don't get overwhelmed.
Today our extraordinary band and orchestra played to the delight of many. Almost half of our school plays an instrument, and the rest engage weekly in other music events such as music class, recorders, and chorus. If you were to walk past the school as the band and orchestra played, you would never imagine that such beautiful music was coming from a performance by elementary school students.
We have our terrific band and orchestra teachers/leaders to thank for this stellar performance. Music in our school system continues to thrive and that's one reason why our students are successful with academics and happy at school.
