A sense of team and belonging is so important to children.
They love to work and play together.
Noting the need to build the TEAM in STEAM, I created a short student survey to collect students' choices for science/math team members.
Then tonight I crafted teams. Everyone got at least one friend on their team.
Tomorrow we'll start the day's lessons with team talk. I'll ask, "What makes a good team?" We'll list the attributes and hang that list on the board to lead our STEAM work to come.
