Choosing Cycles that Promote Growth

You find yourself in cycles that lead to nowhere, yet you try again and again. A friend and colleague recently said, "You're not going to get that there," and has repeated that mantra numerous times to me lately.

"Be the change you want to see," I think, but sometimes that change has to come from somewhere else--the landscape where you expect the change, support, or camaraderie may not be the one to provide that. Yet if you simply look around you with fresh eyes, you'll notice that encouragement, support, and insight are available in places you didn't expect, count on, or possibly even respect.

Hence, I'm heeding my colleague's good advice and trying to match expectation with rightful places and people. A good match for initiatives, forward movement, and innovation is essential for facile, fluid, rightful movement ahead. If the match is not where you expect it to be, don't linger too long, and instead find a nurturing cycle, committee, or camaraderie for your ideas, initiatives, and growth.
