Disregard Creates a Culture of Deceit

Sometimes when people are disregarded, a culture of deceit is created.

For example if someone sees a colleague, family member, or friend chastised, disrespected, or disregarded for valuable work, they will turn to silence rather than own similar good work. They will do what they want, but not share for fear of reprisal or similar disrespectful response.

In most cases it's best to create cultures of share, transparency, debate, and discussion--cultures like these breed trust, growth, innovation, and good work. This is the kind of culture I hope to contribute to and support, rather than cultures that are demeaning, disrespectful, and closed minded to the work, experience, and efforts of those who are committed to good work.

Many of us are relegated to some cultures like these disrespectful cultures as well as honest, transparent, and positive cultures of share and good work. It's best to lean your ship in the direction of positive, proactive culture rather than those that suffocate and demean you.
