Authentic?

It's important to recognize when responses are authentic and when people are giving you lip service. There's a great distinction.

Authentic responses entail true listening and understanding of efforts and ideas, while lip service is generally a "it's great" or "nice job."

People who are authentically listening and responding are thinking with you about the big picture, vision and ideas while those who offer lip service are not really invested in the questions, vision, and ideas you promote.

How do you deal with the difference?

It's important to find allies who support the work you do in authentic ways, and it's important to build that work in ways that matter. It's similarly important to stay clear of those who only offer lip service as much as possible as they don't support your good work and they also can be harmful to the work you do too.  Onward.
