Back to School

The night was railroaded by Trump's firing of Comey.

Why did this announcement trouble me?

I'm tired of riding the Trump roller coaster of highs and lows. His daily alarming decisions and words serve to hinder the good action and service possible. It seems like he's running a television show and not a democracy. It's tiring and it's frightening because we aren't just talking about ratings here, we're talking about quality of life and life in general.

If he sends many young men and women to Afghanistan as he noted today, many will lose their lives. Is this necessary? I don't think so.

If he continues to incite leaders around the world with his tweets, he may incite a war. Why not use diplomacy instead?

Then he often tweets statements for which there is no proof--alarming tweets that get everyone going with conjecture and hearsay rather than dealing with the facts. it's a waste of time, dehumanizing to many, and not what we need.

But I can't fret about Trump all night. Luckily tomorrow I have the chance to work with students in a positive environment that aims to serve every child well. It's not always perfect, but it's a lot better than the world that Trump continually threatens us with.
