Tutoring and Extra Help Leads to Better Teaching

Classroom teachers generally work with large groups of students.

At times we have the chance to work with small groups or one-to-one in quiet, focused environments.

When we do that, we learn a lot about the teaching and learning.

Today as I worked with one young girl, I became aware of a learning challenge that I surmised that many students were facing.

That led to a revised lesson which ended up with an engaging and profitable learning event.

As I move ahead with teaching and learning, I want to look for ways to build in more of these small group and one-to-one teaching/learning experiences. The kinds that forward what we can do with and for students. Onward.
