Why & How: ECET2-MA2016?

About 150 - 200 educators will gather in a couple of weeks for ECET2-MA2016. It's an opportunity for teachers from public, private, charter, and parochial schools to come together to Elevate and Celebrate Effective Teaching and Teachers (ECET2) as we focus on our theme "Teach ALL Children."

The attendees represent multiple schools, systems, and organizations throughout the state. Each attendee was self-nominated or nominated by a colleague who honors their work with students and in education. All those attending share an interest in Teaching ALL Children and will bring that enthusiasm and quest to the event.

Our funders, The New Venture Fund (a subsidiary of The Bill and Melinda Gates Education Foundation), The Davis Foundation, Nellie Mae Education Foundation, The Lynch Foundation, and TeachPlus have emphasized the events' focus which is to ELEVATE and CELEBRATE the educators who come.

In the meantime, if you're joining us, you may want to consider the following events and activities:

Pre-Reception
All attendees received an invitation to the pre-event reception. Let us know if you plan to come. If you're on the invite list and haven't received an invitation, let the planning committee members know.

Twitter Chats
There will be a pre-event Twitter chat at #ecet2ma2016 at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16th and a post #ecet2ma2016 chat on Sunday, October 23rd at 10 a.m. We encourage you to tweet out the big ideas , images, questions, challenges, and efforts shared throughout the day via #ecet2ma2016. We'll collect all those tweets in a Storify to share after the event.

Focus
Most of all bring your focus on how we can use this day of collaboration and share to uplift the work we can do to Teach ALL Students--what are we able to learn from one another to elevate and celebrate the work we do to make a difference in our schools, community, and state.

Change begins with conversation and share, and we hope this will be a day that both celebrates what we do now and elevates what we will do in the future to serve all of our students well.
