MA Educators Share Ideas related to Mathematical Mindsets

Thanks to  +David Hochheiser and +Rik Rowe and their leadership with the bi-monthly Twitter chat, #edchatma, Massachusetts educators and others will have the chance to convene on March 22nd from 8pm to 9pm on Twitter to discuss @joboaler's book, Mathematical Mindsets.

To prepare for the chat, educators in my school system will participate in a book study that meets both online and in real-time to read and discuss the book prior to March 22. Our focus while reading and discussing the book will be to determine how the information in the book will impact the way we successfully teach and lead students with regard to math education.

Whether you teach in Massachusetts or not, if you're interested in joining us for this chat, you may want to read the book beforehand alone or with colleagues in your teaching/learning setting. '

The author, Jo Boaler, tweeted me this morning saying that she'd like to partake in the chat, which is awesome and will make the chat even more beneficial to all of us who are working with care to teach and lead math programs well. Let me know if you have any questions. In the meantime, I'll read the book and create a list of questions for the chat, questions that will be shared in early February, so stay tuned.
