Today was our last Friday of school and it was a wonderful, eventful day.
We started with a PLC focused mostly an ELA overview of the year and some talk about next year too.
After that we introduced upcoming fifth graders to next year's program. It was great to introduce the program with the teaching team and then to have some time with our homeroom students to make connections, learn names, and answer questions.
Later two police officers and a firefighter gave the students a summer safety talk and answered questions. After that fifth graders got their yearbooks which were beautifully designed books put together by their parents who did an amazing job. Then we had a terrific acrobatic performance that entertained us and introduced us to some facts about Chinese culture. Finally we ended the day with popsicles, recognition from our room parents, and yearbook signing. A full and happy day.
Monday is fun day and our final day. Students will have a chance to play, watch a slide show, and be clapped out by their teachers, classmates, friends, and family members. We'll also hand out report cards and a few other notices that day.
Overall it's been a terrific year of teaching and learning, and we're all looking forward to next year's journey. Onward.
