If you visit my classroom today, expect a charrette.
Students will be busy designing, pasting and creating wonderful culture posters.
There will be colored paper everywhere as students craft and "scrapbook" their museum exhibits. They created many of the pieces with technology, but now the exhibit will be mainly a paper-pencil, hands-on activity--evidence of the blended learning environment we foster, not all of one or the other, but the best possible blend of available, worthy tools.
My greatest task will be to impart lots of tips and structure to the event at the start of the day, and then to edit, troubleshoot and encourage throughout the process.
I love the spirit and energy of a charrette, especially when it's held a couple of days before the big event--The Museum Open House.
