Next Steps: The Final Days

Students watched short video interviews or portrayals of the global changemakers they studied, drew pictures of what they'll look like in their costumes as they act in character, and practiced answering the questions that visitors will ask them tomorrow when they depict those famous people past and present in a human time line. The gym looks great with their many portraits, digital posters, and fictional interviews. It will be wonderful to see the children dressed up and acting in character tomorrow, a tradition that's been in place in our school system for many years.

Later in the day, there will be be time to play, time to read, and perhaps, time to continue the class movie, Jump In.

Next week's agenda includes The Rapid reading test, the Global Cardboard Challenge introductions and creativity, Field Day, and lessons about changing bodies. The following week includes move-up day, The Global Cardboard Challenge Arcade, and our final celebratory day with the last assembly, Memory Books, some fun activities, a slideshow, and clap-out.

The room is mostly cleaned up which is good because that gives students time to create with one another in a relatively organized room as we end the year with a number of creative and friendship-related tasks.

There's a bit of paperwork to complete too. The year was a terrific teaching year so far, and hopefully the final days will bring the year to a wonderful close.
