As I think ahead this morning, I'm prepping for Teaching 2018-2019.
I keep a running list of the specific activities and focus for the year ahead on this blog post. I will refer to this list again and again as I do what I need to do for next year.
Specifically, I don't want to lose track of the following items:
Update Website
Our team will update our website with pictures, a class list, calendar updates, and more to welcome next year's students on move-up day.
Orders
We need to submit our orders in a week for next year's program.
Summer Study and Research
I've got a few weeks set aside for summer study and research.
Summer Teamwork
The teaching team will meet to plan the year ahead including the weekly schedule, special events and field trips, and the curriculum map and focus.
Early Year Prep, Orientation, and Planning
The first days back at school will include classroom set-up, prep, orientations, and meetings.
Personal Time and Catch-Up
Teachers traditionally put off a lot of personal efforts throughout the school year and summer is a good time to catch up on those items.
