Right now I'm taking a political pause. If I attend seriously to the Presidential news at the moment, I won't have the energy to end the school year with the strength I want to. The President in almost every way goes against what I believe in as an educator--he demonstrates poor demeanor, demeaning communication, cronyism, favoritism, and injustice towards many. At school the goals are to teach with good demeanor, to communicate positively, and to treat all with fairness with a focus on opportunity for all.
Hence for the weeks ahead, I'll take a political pause, and unless something really big happens, I'll focus in on the school year's end until I pick up the political pace again during the summer months.
