Advocating for Students' Rights

As educators our job is to advocate and stand up for children. It is our job to make sure that children's rights are represented. That's not always easy to do when budgets, philosophies, time, and allegiances are involved.

What are children's rights?

As I did a bit of research I found this article that highlights the main points of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This is part of the article:


It would be interesting to use the UN's Children's Rights work and document as a point of analysis with colleagues and children. In what ways can we better support our children. I'll be thinking about that as I teach today.
