Today, a member of the town's Green Team, Founder of Wayland Transition, and Doctor of Philosophy,
Kaat Vander Straeten, came to class to discuss living systems and ecology with students. She prompted students' thinking about the interconnectedness of all living things big and small through a series of experiments, drawings, stories, and questions. Students listened with care for an hour. Tomorrow they'll be able to apply some of what they learned as they create their own biodomes as one way to explore the interworkings of a small ecosystem.
