Making Mini-Worlds: Biodomes

Students watched a few videos about the use of biodomes. We referenced the biodome in the movie, The Martian, a movie many students have seen. Today, students will create their biodomes--a simple, plastic bottle world of plants and perhaps an insect or two.

It's a simple project, but a project that helps students to see the systems of interconnectedness that exist in our greater ecosystems.

To start, I'll organize a table of materials.

Students will cut the bottles and create the biodomes.

Then we'll carefully find small plants and insects to inhabit the domes.
