When you think about the many organizations and groups you belong to, you may sometimes wonder, "Where do I fit into this picture?" This question arises particularly at times of change. How does one go about answering that question?
First, think about who you are and where you are headed? Who do you want to be and where do you want to go? You want your place in the picture to reflect the answers to those questions.
Next, think about the people in each of those organizations and groups. What do they expect from you? What do they hope you'll provide, contribute, do, or not do? Where is your niche on those teams?
After that think about what it is that you need to do in order to sustain your membership on those teams or in those groups if that's what you desire?
We all belong to many groups and organizations, and it's worth the time to think about where you fit into those pictures every now and then to develop your place and contribution.
