The last month of school is challenging due to warm weather, no air conditioning, and tired students. Also, after many weeks of an uprooted routine and reduced specialist support, students are needing their specialist services more than ever. This is the "all hands on deck" time of year--the time when everyone possible is needed to work with students.
Sometimes at the end of the year, some teachers don't arrive in the classroom due to impromptu meetings, report gathering, and organizational matters, and classroom teachers are left to do it all without the typical supports--supports needed to run inclusion classrooms.
So at the end of the year, reach out for your specialists and assistants for that extra pair of hands that can spell the difference between challenging days and memorable, successful days.
