Friday Musings

This was our first full week of school--a successful week!

We're fully engaged in our life science/ecosystem and numerical expression units. We're blending multiple resources to reach for understanding and enrichment.

The STEAM center is active with lots of materials and eager students creating, problem solving, building, and connecting. We'll continue to add new materials and organize the existing materials as we move through a variety of projects and learning objectives.

Next week will find us finishing our fact assessments, learning more with Khan Academy, and investigating coordinate grids. We'll also continue our ecosystem study by finish our favorite place in nature models, writing about our models using unit vocabulary, and learning more about our local ecosystem.

Our STEAM star study will continue as we complete watching Admiral McRaven's speech and continue to read about George Washington Carver. We'll read multiple books about Carver's life and then write and talk about his influence as well as comparing and contrasting the books we read.

Buddies also started this week. It's always great to see how the older children and younger children teach, encourage, and support one another.

Now it's time for the weekend!  Enjoy.
