Curriculum That Matters

I enjoy research, and I like to have a list of questions waiting for a ripe moment of inspiration, a connected post, or a learning opportunity.

As I read an aspiring post this morning, and thought about my recommitment to the classroom work, I am wondering about the questions that will lead my curriculum work in the year to come. Here's a starting list.

1. How can I build in better routines, and more time for the Standards of Mathematical Practice (SMPs)?

2. What mathematical models and processes will I match with each unit?

3. How will I revise the fractions unit using the SMPs, models, wonderful projects, inquiry, and scaffolded delivery?

4. What learning elements will we include in our upcoming PBL endeavor to inspire, educate, and empower students?

I will continue to add to this question list, a list that will lead my research in the weeks to come.
