The past few weeks have been filled with so much life and activity--layers and layers of stories, actions and intersections: moms and dads, sisters and brothers, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. Happy and sad, joyous and sorrowful, struggles and accomplishments, ruts in the road and happy slides--so many varied paths. The long awaited and planned for reunions brought us together with happiness and struggle, joy and challenge--we all live in a world with limitless possibility and restraints too.
Today is a quiet calm after all that life--a cold, snow covered day brightened by candles and tree lights that still gleam from windows. It has been a day of renewed spirit and strength with energy reignited and the return of the muse.
I wish I had another week before returning to the classroom--a week to read, create and ponder, a week to shore up my intellectual strength and vision, but unfortunately it's a quick return after a week of busy celebrations and family.
I'm thankful though for the return of the muse for during the busy, busy days at the end of the semester and during the holidays, inspiration was replaced by action and intersection, activity and conversation. And now, the new year begins with the muse by my side ready to forge forward on my path in life.
