To me, the best compliments are those that speak of the goals and efforts I really believe in.
Last night, as part of students' home study, children responded to the statement, "Tell three facts you learned about your teacher."
One student gave me a true compliment with this response, "She understands what we need help with; she lets students do most of the talking, and she believes that better learners make mistakes."
Now I have the enormous task of living up to that statement.
