Trump's heinous leadership has revealed the inequity that exists in the United States.
We can do better.
The fact that the Trump team ignored pandemic warnings, disbanded the pandemic health team, did not read initial briefings about the virus, called it a hoax, and did not act in good time, inflamed this pandemic in the United States in ways that have caused 133,000 deaths to date and the spread of the virus to over 3,000,000 people so far. Trump's negligence not only led to many, many unnecessary deaths and illness, but it also revealed America's lack of preparedness to deal with a pandemic and our negligence with regard to to quality, equitable health care. Too many poor, marginalized people have been infected and have died due to the pandemic and the poor health care and quality of life they've had to endure over time.
While in office, Trump has focused at elevating the wealth and power of a small percentage of people across the globe at all costs. He has neglected the environment, education, health care, expert leadership, global relations, respect for laws, and world peace in favor of elevating the wealth of his financial backers and cronies. Rather than hiring the best and brightest experts for important government offices, he's had a revolving door of ill-equipped family members and cronies in important offices--people, who like him, will to elevate their own personal wealth and privilege rather than the welfare of our country, the environment, and the people. Trump continues this heinous reign via lies, sensationalism, hate rhetoric, and self-serving acts that waste American's hard earned tax dollars, time, potential, and sadly lives too. He is a corrupt individual. Those that work with him and for him are similarly corrupt, and those that support him with their dollars are even more evil and corrupt.
We do not have to sit idly by and let a few self-serving, rich folk rape us of our rights, freedom, money, health, education, and lives. A better America is a country where every one of us has the opportunity to live a good life with good, humane supports such as accessible/affordable health care, quality education, safe neighborhoods, healthy recreation, protected natural resources, and a fair wage and work conditions for every worker.
So what specifically can we do?
We have to stay informed--every citizen has to read a variety of news sources in order to learn the truth of the matter. I was alarmed to read about the popularity of the propaganda news show, Fox News. Fox News repeatedly spreads lies and ignores important truths about society. If your news diet is Fox News alone, then you're being greatly manipulated by Trump's team of rich, selfish cronies and family members. Don't be fooled--broaden the reading you do and learn the truth of the matter. Many of the poor, white folk that attend Trump rallies and think he's their friend are the same people living in lands where Trump's policies are polluting their waters, ripping away their health care access, lessening their children's education, and destroying their retirement benefits. Trump knows that that the kind of criminal behavior he's involved in is complex and difficult for the average person to understand. For example, I'm still having trouble understanding how Trump makes money off of his own debts, but he does. I'm also having difficultly understanding how he has helped people launder their money via his real estate deals--even the idea of laundering money is far from the average American's experience and thus difficult to understand since most of us have not enough money or just enough money to pay our monthly bills and little left. Few people deal with the big money that Trump deals with. White collar crime that Trump deals in is difficult for the average person to understand since most of us are not as wealthy as Trump and his cronies.
We have to be politically active. Trump and his heinous cronies count on us to not be politically active. They count on us to be too busy to speak out. For example, if children are back in school and parents are back working--we'll all be too sick and tired to speak up and be informed. Trump's heinous team wills that--an overworked, underpaid, and sick population will be a quiet populace and a populace that's easier to cheat. On the other hand, a well educated, well rested, healthy population with good working conditions and adequate pay will be more knowledgeable, outspoken, and able to work for what is right and good for their lives. We need to create the kind of conditions that give every American voice and choice--we have to lift the opportunities and freedoms of all Americans. For too long, too many Americans have lived in compromised situations--this has to stop now. No one should have to live in an inadequate home/environment, without good nutrition, and without access to quality health care, recreation, and education. We can do better.
We can't be fooled. The Trump team are expert manipulators. They use hate statements, lies, sensationalism, and the media to fool you day after day. Don't let that happen. Your retirement dollars may increase by a few dollars, but what you don't realize is that an unhealthy environment, lack of health care, and poor education will cost you a lot more than the rise in that retirement account. Trump and his evil backers don't care whether you live or die--they truly operate with what seems like the mantra, "Less of them, more for me." You have a right to live well--you are as valuable as anyone else. Don't let selfish fools like Trump and his family members and cronies fool you.
We can create a better America, and we have to act to make this happen. What will you do?
