Who are the humanizers in your midst?
Who are the people that call you to be more respectful, kind, sensitive, and caring?
Their existence works on you making you look deeper and think more about what it means to love and care for another person?
It's likely that our individual worlds are surrounded by humanizers--people, that if we give them the time, have powerful messages and examples for us.
I know that in my world there are several of these people, and they are likely not the people you think they might be since the humanizers in our midst are people that call to us in very personal and sensitive ways--they are people that rub up against our shortcomings and urge us to shed layers of ignorance, disrespect, pride, and insensitivity.
Humanizers can be young or old and represent a multitude of religions, lifestyles, cultures, and interests. What's important about them is that they call to us in their words and actions. In a sense, they wake us up to recognize our shortcomings and give us an opportunity to be better.
As I think of a few humanizers I know, I recognize that I have to listen more, observe more, and embrace the messages they bring to my life, messages that will empower me after some time of struggle as I work to grasp these new lessons.
