I'll let students know the best strategies for this system-wide assessment which include:
- Take your time
- Do your best
- Read the question carefully, figure out the answer, and then and only then look at the answer choices. Two choices will be way off, one will be close, and one will be correct. When it doubt, narrow it down to your best possible choice via process of elimination.
- Figure out your answers on paper. Use pictures, numbers, and/or words to figure out your answers.
- Calculate on paper. Then double check your calculations to make sure that you didn't make any small errors.
- Be quiet as you take the test so that those around you can concentrate too.
We'll also have time for a team meeting and some afternoon math practice. It will be a good day ahead.
