River Week Continues
Students hiked for about 3.5 hours today as they stopped to learn about and explore a Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge, a beautiful natural setting in Concord, Massachusetts. Tomorrow they'll do a stewardship hike to the Sudbury River led by local environmental activist, Pat Conaway. On the way to the river they will learn how to clean-up the environment and lessen pollution.
As I watched students' explore the natural habitat today, I realized that I want to read more about youth exploring nature. I've read some and have based these trips on that, but now I want to know more and thanks to working with Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary next year, we'll be able to learn more to develop this work in ways that matter.
