The unit I'm charged to teach is the physical science unit of study--that requires lots of powders, liquids, measuring cups/cylinders, balances, clear cup, and more. The FOSS kits we bought this year supply many of the tools we need, however there are lots of consumables that I want to purchase for next year as we prepare for a year of science, consumables such as the following:
- baking soda
- vinegar
- corn starch
- sugar
- glycerin
- glitter
We will also need more:
- cotton string
- paper towels
- plastic bags or recycled containers so we are not buying more plastic
- tubing
- unbreakable test tubes and stands
- pebbles
- sand
- gravel
- magnets
- plastic clear cups
- storage containers
- teaspoons
- tablespoons
The better we can order ahead and set up the room for great science learning, the better off we'll be for next year's science teaching/learning.
