As I looked out over the upcoming teaching/learning endeavor, I thought about the question, "What's holding you back?"
If you really give this question good thought, it can help to direct your upcoming teaching/learning efforts.
Often we choose activities that serve to develop our strengths rather than work on our challenges, and when you pose the question about what's holding you back, you're likely to focus more on those challenge areas--the areas that you can shore up to teach and learn better.
What's holding you back could fall into the personal or professional sphere. It's likely to be a mix.
As I consider this question, I find that it's helping me focus in on the important and strategic use of time in the days ahead.
