It seems like everywhere I turn there's a new article, book, video, or idea published via newsletters, educational journals, and on social media threads.
The challenge here is finding the time to read all of these articles and newsletters, and then to figure out how to apply the information.
Our time in schools for professional learning is very short. This is an issue in the profession. Yet, I want to include more professional reading and writing into my repertoire of teaching and learning well.
I'll start this mathematics reading and study with the following periodicals and efforts:
- Reading the latest NCTM Magazines.
- Reading Education Week's Spotlight on Math
- Continuing to keep abreast of the work related to Computational Thinking
- Following mathematicians and math threads online.
I'll also look for ways to work with colleagues with regard to this learning and teaching so that the study is shared and implemented into our daily work.
There's so much to learn and know in our world today, and the key is to figure out the best ways to attain and apply the advantageous knowledge, skill, and concept out there.
