Questions: Optimal Learning Environments

As I think about optimal learning environments, I think about the following topics:

  • Furniture: What furniture promotes optimal learning?
  • Supplies: What supplies truly impact vigorous learning?
  • Response: How does effective response affect a learner?
  • Units of Study: How do we design and facilitate important learning?
  • Schedules: How do we use time to effect education success?
  • Collaborations: What are the right numbers, expectations, and teams for effective collaboration?
  • Care: How do we care for one another in ways that are relevant and meaningful
  • Communication: How do we organize communication to effect successful learning organizations?
  • Professional Learning: What are our collective professional learning goals? How do we target that learning with lead time?
  • Systems: How can we streamline systems to serve students well?
  • Signage: What do our websites, school signs, video, and news articles say about our collective work?
  • Protocols: How are protocols created, and what protocols do we share as a learning community?
I will think about these questions as I move forward with my work and role in the learning community.
