Sometimes a test is the best choice for classroom endeavor. Today is a day when that's true. The students have been working for a long time in multiple ways to explore and study fractions. And now before I move further in the unit, I want to see what students have gained with regard to knowledge, concept, and skill. Hence, this morning I'll give a test. Once I assess the results, I'll be able to plan the next leg of the unit in a way that meets each child's needs. Also, I'm anxious to see how the teaching went so far with this unit since this test won't only test children's learning, but it will also be a test of my teaching.
